Rashid Club to organise first international race in Kingdom of Bahrain

The Executive Director of Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, Shaikh Salman bin Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, has announced that the club will be organising Bahrain's first international horse race, with various owners and trainers from around the world taking part.

Shaikh Salman bin Rashid said that organising a race of this high level comes as part of the directives of High Committee Chairman of Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, His Highness Shaikh Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, and High Committee Deputy Chairman of Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

It is a testament to the framework of the steps taken by the high committee to develop the level of horseracing in Bahrain, and it will contribute to putting the country on the map of this global sport as well as illustrate the support and care that horseracing receives from the wise leadership.

Shaikh Salman bin Rashid stressed that organising an international race on Bahrain's track for the very first time is an unprecedented event in the history of Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, which has positively contributed to the Kingdom over the years. He added that this event will highlight Bahrain's reputation in the sport, especially in the organisation of international races that are followed by many people around the world. Further, this event will be an opportunity to attract the attention of the global media and market Bahrain internationally.

Shaikh Salman bin Rashid pointed out that organising this global event is part of future plans and goals set by the high committee, which aims to invest in the horseracing sport and develop it to be one of the economic, tourist and sporting attractions in Bahrain.

He said that Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club will do the utmost in order to successfully organise this race, and it will provide the best conditions for its success. He stressed that the race will be open to the participation of various owners and trainers from around the world, and noted that the club has already received interest by a number of owners from different countries.

The club will announce at a later date further details related to this international event.
